India being a culturally diverse country attracts many Brazilian tourists. But visiting a foreign country means going through the entire visa application process. But these days, anyone can apply for a visa easily through online platforms. e visa is an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) that grants the holder permission to stay in India for various purposes. What are an e-medical visa and e-medical attendant visas?

E-visa has many types and two of its types are E-medical and E-medical attendant visas. Both the visas issued for different purposes.

  • E-medical visa- The purpose of issuing this visa is to allow the visa holder to enter the country only for any medical treatment. In India, this is a visa only for short period. The period of 60 days from the first arrival in the country and for the remaining 60 days. The visa holder can reuse the visa only 2 more times. So, in total one e-medical visa grant 3 entries in India within 60 days. Another important detail, this e-visa type is not for the family members of the patient.

  • E-medical attendant visa- This is the visa type used by the people accompanying the patient, the holder of the e-medical visa. Only 2 people can accompany the patient under this visa type, and they should be blood-related to the e-medical visa holder. The validity period of the e-medical attendant visa is also 60 days, the same as the e-medical visa.

What is an e-tourist visa?

An e-tourist visa is an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) that allows the holder to enter India for tourism purposes. The Government introduced the visa in the year 2014. The holder of this e-visa type allowed to stay continuously in the country for 90 days except for the UK, Canada, Japan, and the USA, who are allowed a continuous stay of 180 days. The visitor should have this e-visa on arrival, only then the immigration officer will allow them to enter the country.

  • Meeting family and friends

  • Tourism

  • Therapy sessions or yoga retreats

What is e-business visa and e-conference visa?

An E-business visa allows the holder to stay in India for business-related work. Say if the visitor has any of the following reasons to enter India, then they can apply for an e-business visa:

  • Business meetings

  • Trading or for purchase and sales of goods and services

  • To employ a new workforce

  • To attend and participate in business fairs and exhibitions

  • For setting up of business ventures

  • To give speeches and lectures

This visa type allows the holder to have a continuous stay in the country for 180 days, and within those 180 days, multiple entries are allowed. If the holder wants to extend their stay over 180 days, then within 14 days after the visa expiry, the holder must register with the Foreigner Registration Office (FRRO/FRO).

E-conference visa is submitted by the visitors coming to India to attend any workshop or any seminar/conference. The visa is a single entry visa with a validity of 30 days.

What are the documents required to apply for an e-visa?

The additional documents required for applying for each type of Indian e-visa can differ so it is better to keep all the documents prepared before applying. Also, all the required documents should be in the English language to avoid any rejections.

  • E-medical visa: -

  1. Scanned copy of the passport page which contains all the identity details and the photograph.

  2. Copy of the Indian hospital letter states the date by which the patient/holder of the visa should be admitted.

  • E-medical attendant visa: -

  1. Only additional document requirement is the scanned copy of the passport page containing all the necessary identity details and the photograph.

  • E-tourist visa: -

  1. Scanned copy of the bio page within the passport along with the photograph.

  2. In case of any work for a short period, a copy of the letter contains the details from the concerned firm.

  3. In case of short time educational courses, copy of the letter containing such details from the concerned Indian organization/institution/hospital.

  • E-business visa: -

  1. Scanned copy of the bio details page that contains all the details and the photograph.

  2. Copy of the business card

  3. Optional: any invitation received from an Indian party to attend or conduct any business.

  • E-conference visa: -

  1. Scanned copy of the passport page containing all the details and the photograph.

  2. Invitation received by the Indian organizer

  3. Clearance of event received from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

  4. Political clearance received from the Ministry of External Affairs.

What is the process of e-visa?

After all the required documents are properly prepared, the applicant can start filing the online visa form. If the Brazilian citizens are stuck and need help at any point, customer service is available to them at all times.

  1. The first step is to fill in all the general bio details along with the traveling details. Also, select the visa type and the processing time. Both the type and processing period will affect the cost of the form.

  2. The second stem to recheck all the details and proceed to make the payment. The rechecking should be done very carefully to ensure that there are no mistakes or else will be rejected. Once all the detail is checked to make the payment. After the payment is processed, no correction can be made to the information and the payment is non-refundable.

  1. Standard processing: Visa will be processed in 5 days and it is the cheapest one.

  2. Rush processing: Visa application will be processed within 3 days and cost a little bit higher than the Standard process.

  3. Super rush processing: Visa application will be processed within 2 days and you have to pay more for that as it is the fastest one.

Along with these, there are also bank charges:

  1. Debit or credit card gateway:2.5 percent of the application fee.

  2. PayPal: 3.5 percent of the application fee.

Once all the procedure is finished, the applicant will receive the e-visa in their email. Carry the printed version of the e-visa to pass the immigration process and get that e-visa stamped on the passport.
