eVisa Types

For other country
  • The e-Visa is valid for 90 days after issued. Its holder is entitled to stay up to 30 days Per Entryto Malaysia.
  • Chinese living in China cannot apply.
  • We recommend travelers apply for the e-Visa at least 2 weeks prior to their departure to Malaysia.
  • Each traveler’s passport must be valid for at least six months from the planned date of entry.
  • Applicants must be citizens of China, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Serbia or Montenegro.
  • Your approved visa must be printed on letter-sized paper (color or black and white) from your e-Visa account. This important e-Visa document must be presented upon arrival in Malaysia entry and exit checkpoints. A digital visa is not accepted.
  • You are not permitted to apply for an e-Visa if you are currently located in Malaysia or Singapore.

Applying for a visa: eVisitor Vs. ETA Visa

Both eVisitor and ETA visas provide and serve for the same purpose, but they have the following similarities and differences. It would help a person to choose and approach the best as per their needs.

Similarities
  • Both have a duration of three months of travel and promote multiple entries.
  • Both of them have a validity of 12 months and require one day processing time.
  • Both do not permit you to work in Malaysia.
Differences
  • You can apply for Urgent processing for an ETA visa, but the eVisitor has a max process time of 3 to 5 days.
  • The ETA (subclass 601) is viable to 8 Nationality citizens , while the eVisitor (subclass 651) visa applies by 37 other nations.

Who is eligible for eVISA?

eVISA Nationality eligibility : Nationality China, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan Bhutan, Serbia, Montenegro.

How long does it take to obtain an eVISA

It takes 48 to 72 hours for processing. This 48 to 72 hours processing period applies only for working days and, does not include weekends, public holidays, Malaysian holidays and any other specific countries holidays.

What types of eVISA is offered?

eVISA offers Single-Entry Visa (SEV) to China, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Serbia and Montenegro Nationals for a single journey into malaysia up to a maximum of 30 days for each visit with NO extensions allowed. eVISA offers Multiple-Entry Visa (MEV) & Single-Entry Visa (SEV) to Indian Nationals for journey in to Malaysia with up to a maximum of 30 days for each visit with no extension allowed.

How long will my eVISA be valid for?

eVISA is vaild for 3 months while eVISA holder is entitled to stay up to a maximum of 30 days for each visit in Malaysia.

What is the minimum passport blank pages prior entry into Malaysia?

The minimum required blank passport page is three (3).

How should I upload my flight tickets if I have more than one document?

If you have multiple documents (i.e. for hotel booking or air tickets), kindly merge all the documents into one file and then upload it into the respective field of your eVISA application.

What documents do I need to apply for eVISA?

Below are the documents that need to be scanned and uploaded with your application.

  • Recent passport sized studio photo. as per Guidelines

What is the approval process for eVISA?

Your application is subject to approval by the Malaysian Immigration Department or Malaysian Mission Office. Kindly be informed that in the event of suspicion, applicants may be required to supply further documents or be called for an interview or skype session with Malaysia Consulate / Malaysia High Commission / Malaysian Embassy.

Will I have to print out my eVISA?

Yes. You will receive your eVISA in an A4 printout format which you will have to print out accordingly. Kindly be reminded that your eVISA printout is crucial and must be presented upon your arrival at the Malaysian entry checkpoints.

You are advised to be alert with any email notifications from us, as the means of communication will be through email.
